Abstract | Abstract A description of the construction and use of a questionnaire designed to evaluate first year university science courses. The questionnaire employs a “forced choice” technique to measure three variables: expectations of students, influences upon students, and aims of staff. Field test results are reported. These are used to estimate the validity and reliability of the procedure and to show the way in which data may be analysed. |
