"A to Z ready for K : a complete 35-week preschool curriculum is for anyone looking for new ideas or for a curriculum to use lesson by lesson, every day. The year begins with two introductory weeks, when, first, the children learn about themselves and their families, and second, they learn about color. Then they start learning the alphabet. Along with a chapter for each letter of the alphabet, there are some additional chapters: simple machines, Thanksgiving, Snow week, Five senses, Spring week, Artist week, and Ready for kindergarten. Each weekly chapter includes the following: early childhood standards, weekly themes, dramatic play and prop suggestions, listening activities and songs, stories, interactive charts and props, circle-time activities, table work, writing center activities, board games, sensory table suggestions, workbench activities, art and craft activities, lesson plan template.; "Prepare children for kindergarten with this easy-to-implement preschool curriculum. Each chapter includes ideas for dramatic play, activities/songs/poems, books to read aloud, plans for Circle Time, Table Work, and Free Choice Play. Weekly topics are linked to early childhood standards, and include ideas for classroom setup, a daily schedule, and reproducible material"--Adapted from page [4] of cover.
