| Abstract | "EdPsych Modules uses an innovative implementation of case studies and a modular format to address the challenge of effectively connecting theory and research to practice. The Fourth Edition includes updated research and examples and maintains the book's popular case study approach and extensive pedagogy. Each of the book's eight units begins with a set of four case studies--early childhood, elementary, middle school, and secondary --for each cluster of modules. Each module ends with "Reflect and Evaluate" questions and activities that progress through each of the developmental levels addressed in the case studies. This organization allows students to see the same group of case studies from a variety of perspectives as they move from one module to the next within each unit. Diversity coverage is interwoven throughout, emphasizing how psychological factors adapt and change as race, gender and sexuality, disability, and socioeconomic influences come into play. The case approach and the extensive pedagogy that supports it allows students to constantly see the applications of the theories and research that they are studying in the text.
