Abstract | The best teaching possible needs to accrue in the mathematics curriculum. Pupils also need to become proficient in using mathematics in every day situations in life. Individuals buy goods and services. They pay for these in different ways, including cash. Here, persons need to be able to compute the total cost of items purchased and then pay for them using adequate currency amounts. In the school setting, much use is made of number such as how many pupils will eat in the cafeteria at noon or how many want milk in the school milk program? There are, indeed, a plethora of situations involving the use of mathematics. What might the teacher then do to assist pupils to develop proficiency in numeracy and use mathematics effectively in school and in society? (As Provided). |
