Abstract | This study researched in the level of career planning of Turkish athletes ranked in the Olympics during the time they were active in sports and after they retired. This study which aimed to determine the career planning efficiency of Turkish athletes ranked in the Olympics based on the viewpoints of the athletes holding Olympic degree is scanning model and presents a descriptive quality. In line with the aim which constitutes the subject of the study, survey form was prepared by the researcher. The prepared survey form was applied to 37 athletes who had degree in the Olympics, who are still alive and who are Turkish citizens. The data taken from the surveys was analyzed on computer and with SPSS 17.0 statistics program. Alpha coefficient was benefited for the determination of the credibility of the survey, frequency and percentage statistics were benefited for the determination of the demographic and sportive profiles of the athletes, average and standard deviation statistics were benefited in order for the determination of the career planning levels of the athletes during when they were making sports and after they were retired. In the research it was reached that the Turkish athletes ranked in the Olympics could not make an efficient career planning in sportive terms and that they headed towards the different professions out of sports or they were obliged to head.
