Abstract	An individual professional development plan (IPDP) is a document early childhood educators create, review regularly, and update as needed to guide their future professional development. The plan includes personal and professional goals guided by professional standards and strategies for meeting them. Educators learn and grow continuously by following and continuing to review and update their plan. An IPDP is not a job description, a performance evaluation, or a program evaluation, although all these documents can inform an IPDP. An IPDP is a useful tool for students entering the early childhood field and is highly recommended for administrators and staff at all levels of experience (NAEYC & NACCRRA 2011). This article describes the creation and use of an effective individual professional development plan. (ERIC).
