Abstract | A cornerstone of intentional stewardship is measuring outcomes--essentially keeping track of the changing behavior of donors. Evaluating stewardship outcomes may require a considerable amount of work in determining cause-and-effect relationships between stewardship actions and donor behaviors, but a few tests can be revelatory. For instance, it can be interesting to measure how many donors who receive scholarship stewardship are active donors to the institution's annual fund. Such evaluation might help open a window on how stewardship programs promote ongoing philanthropy rather than exclusively recognizing past giving. This article discusses how to streamline and consolidate processes to maximize fundraising. (ERIC). |
