Abstract | Drawing on Everett Rogers's theory of the diffusion of innovations, this article identifies the barriers, challenges, and successes in the adoption of technology training by teacher trainers in Cambodia. The analysis was based on data collected from an open-ended survey, face-to-face interviews, and document analysis. Findings reveal that the biggest challenges to adopting the use of new technologies were hardware incompatibility; complexity; language barriers; the lack of electricity, computers, Internet access, and of practice for trainees; and the inability to understand the advantages of these technologies. Suggestions for technology trainers, policy makers, and project managers are offered in the conclusion. (Contains 3 tables and 2 footnotes.) (As Provided). |
