Abstract | Many teachers perceive their primary responsibility as delivering a prepackaged curriculum, which is reinforced by today's standards-based education system and culture. However, this approach of teacher as curriculum deliverer is associated with many problems, including the suppression of student voices, the narrowing of critical thought, and the neglect of the teachable moments.
