Abstract | It is not the redesign of the central office that will result in change in how professional development is perceived and implemented in a school district. School districts move departments from one division to another every few years or whenever upper administration changes. This can only result in superficial changes. In Broward County (Florida) Public Schools, district leaders have learned that only by changing the culture of the school district will they create real change in professional development. In this article, the author describes how district leaders in Broward County Public Schools "recultured" the central office to support professional learning. (ERIC). |
