| Abstract | Over the course of the past 100 years the work of John Dewey has been studied by philosophers, educators and politicians. He has been hailed by some and blamed by others for the evolution of educational reform in America. His influences can still be seen in schools today ranging from Progressive approaches to Child-centered curriculum to Project-Based learning. While Dewey offered many philosophies about education, he rarely suggested methods for implementation. The High Tech schools in San Diego, California approached this challenge left behind by Dewey in the design of their schools. This article will address the theories of Dewey in practice, through the lens of the High Tech model. (As Provided). |
