Abstract | In this article, the authors provide an overview of what can be expected at the AASL 14th National Conference and Exhibition. The Conference Committee and AASL staff have focused on designing a conference to help all school library media specialists with the implementation of the new standards, raising the level of learning in school library media programs and addressing the needs of a new generation of students. The conference committee chairs have been hard at work planning new and exciting programming, inviting significant and timely authors, and creating a technology experience that is transparent and interactive like no other conference before. Charlotte 2009 promises to provide school library media professionals with thought-provoking sessions; discussions with colleagues and friends, both in person and virtually; time to investigate new materials and resources in the Exhibit Hall; and the opportunity to get "rev'ed up" with a big dose of energy that will reinvigorate them and their program. A whirlwind of opportunities await participants during the four short days--pre-conference workshops, general session speakers, Exploratorium, author events, concurrent sessions, Exhibit Hall, and much more.
