Abstract | How can comprehensive community colleges serve students with diverse learning needs today while determining a single Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) to improve student learning? During the reaffirmation planning process, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) recognized this challenge and responded by designing a plan for the selection of the QEP that would engage all stakeholders of the institution and effectively communicate that plan. This often underemphasized step in the reaffirmation process was found to be crucial in determining the best QEP for the institution. It maximized stakeholder buy-in of this highly publicized plan to improve student learning. This article discusses four-step process that has proven to be very effective for MGCCC. The four-step process includes: (1) plan of communication for stakeholder input; (2) analysis of stakeholder input; (3) development of potential QEP abstracts; and (4) selection of the QEP. (ERIC). |
