Abstract | Over the past 20 years, the value placed on creativity has dramatically increased, and it has become centrally relevant to education on a global scale. This article explores the many elements involved in the creative process in the hope of providing educators with a working knowledge of how creativity might be enhanced. Recommendations are drawn from the existing literature, and a rationale for a product-oriented definition is provided. The elements that influence creativity are organized into five categories: motivation, uncommon commitment, skill, imagination, and courage: as represented by the acronym M.U.S.I.C. Practical strategies for the classroom are included. (As Provided). |
