Abstract | In this article, the author shares her experiences working as a system facilitator, instructor, and mentor for Native faculty and undergraduate and graduate students. The author hopes that by sharing some of her experiences, non-Natives--specifically, those who can provide the knowledge and support necessary for faculty and students to prosper in this setting--may be considered as allies. Here, the author also suggests to identify Native mentors and peers as well as to identify non-Native allies to facilitate one's career. Such mentors can help make the universities places that are conducive for Native faculty and staff to succeed and places where Native students can be educated in a manner that enables them to take their place in Native communities.
