AbstractDual enrollment programs are collaborative efforts between high schools and colleges, in which high school students are permitted to take college courses. These programs provide students with a challenging academic experience and the opportunity to earn college credit prior to high school graduation. Despite the popularity of dual enrollment, one has not known much about its effectiveness as a strategy for increasing students' college success. This article presents a study conducted by the Community College Research Center on the benefits of dual enrollment programs. The study finds that dual enrollment is a promising strategy in helping students enter and persist in postsecondary education. (ERIC).
