Abstract | In January 2006, the College of Business at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) instituted a cross-disciplinary program in international business (IB). Business communication is a major component of the program. Moreover, the need for business communication in other languages contributed greatly to the cross-disciplinary nature of the program. This article explains how faculty members from a diverse range of fields have been involved in the design and implementation of the IB program. The synergy resulting from this interdisciplinary initiative has strengthened not only individual courses but the IB program as a whole. (Contains 1 table.) (ERIC). |
