Abstract	"Learning for Life--a New Framework for Adult Skills," a thought-provoking report from the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), manages to be both passionate and well argued. Resulting, in part, from a series of policy seminars during 2006, it makes an interesting contribution to current debates. Simone Delorenzi advocates the articulation of a new rationale for adult learning; putting learners and learning at the heart of the system; practical support in the exercising of learner choice; and enabling learning providers and local government to respond to local demand for learning. In this article, the author discusses the contentions made by Delorenzi in her report. (ERIC).
