| Abstract | This article features five classroom teachers who realized their publishing dreams. These teachers include Blue Balliet, author of "Chasing Vermeer" and ""The Wright Three," Patricia Reilly Giff, author of "Today Was a Terrible Day," Lily's Crossing," and "Pictures of Hollis Woods," Vicki Cobb, author of "I Face the Wind," and Science Experiments You Can Eat," Bob Krech, author of "Rebound," and Liz Chipman, author of "From the Lighthouse." Brief descriptions of their teaching history, the reasons why they started writing, and their writing practices are also presented. (ERIC). |
