Abstract | The Department of Engineering & Design at Eastern Washington University (EWU) offers a bachelor of arts degree in visual communication design and bachelor of science degrees in mechanical engineering technology, manufacturing technology, construction technology, design technology, electrical engineering, computer engineering technology and electronics technology. All students in the department take TECH 490 Senior Capstone as a graduation requirement. The recently revised capstone curriculum enables the department's multiple disciplines to effectively collaborate to create a very successful converged learning experience. In this article, the author shares information on the development of the new curriculum and the benefits of converged learning at EWU. (Contains 4 photos.) (ERIC). |
