Abstract | The typical goal of distance learning is to provide students with coursework they would not otherwise have access to. The students are open to it because they are comfortable with technology. Often, the most resistant are teachers, either because they are worried that their jobs will be overtaken by computers or because they are just not inclined to change their mode of teaching. Resistant or not, both students and teachers can make the transition. This article presents different online schools that offer benefits of convenience, independence, and even improved academic performance. (ERIC). |
