Abstract | Each type of Web site can be easily located if teachers understand a few basics about the different types of information found on the Net. This article provides useful tips to science teachers on how to search the Web and where to find the following information: (1) Ready-Reference Sources (2) Current Events Sources; (3) Science Lesson Plans; (4) Science Animations and Movies; (5) Additional Sites and Resources; (6) Specific Types of Files; and (7) Online Tutorials. Teachers should remember to think about the type of resource they need before they begin their search and then choose the appropriate avenue to find the information. They should always bookmark any portal sites that include lists of resources so they can explore them when they have a chance. In addition, they must consider posting their lessons, tutorials, Flash animations, and links pages to share with other science teachers and students. (ERIC). |
