Abstract	Many projects grow out of passion and minimal outside funding. One's own personal enthusiasm, together with non-monetary encouragement of others, can fuel a project for a while. On-going development of a project and sustainability however, often depends upon partnering with people and funding resources. In this article, the author shares ideas on how to get grant money for someone who is starting a project. She provides information on how to begin to plug into available resources and the things that matter, such as: (1) investing time; (2) the funder's priorities; (3) how one articulates the problem and one's impact; (4) building relationships; (5) the written proposal; (6) ongoing development of one's project; and (7) passion. Here, she also describes the typical elements of a grant proposal: (1) cover letter; (2) summary statement; (3) organizational information; (4) problem statement; (5) objectives; (6) activities; (7) evaluation plan; (8) sustainability; and (9) budget.
