| Abstract | Every child arrives at school with a complex family history. In fact, families are small social systems where each member finds his or her place. This adaptive process shapes teachers' temperament and character far more than they realize. A classroom is the sum total of the cultures the students bring to school. This article suggests some things teachers should keep in mind when trying to understand their students and create a vibrant, inclusive classroom. (ERIC). |
