AbstractThinking about the shifts underway which, combined with the spread of the Internet, are affecting both the content of work and the occupational skills required by employers and, more generally, training/employment relationships, leads us to conclude that contemporary societies are faced with the emergence of a new production paradigm. To decode these shifts and give them a meaning, we suggest that this paradigm be interpreted as the emergence of a production model combining a neo-artisanal system with the production of bespoke digital services. This new model, whose prime mover is more economic than technological, is part of the long-term dynamics of deconstruction/reconstruction of the Taylorist/Fordist model and the welfare state, which started in the late 1970s.
