Abstract	There are a variety of programs available throughout the nation in regard to school-to-career initiatives. The focus here is to identify and examine ways in which school-to-career education is perceived in Connecticut in a variety of school districts, programs and differing viewpoints. Examples are given that are representative of various viewpoints, and are meant to act as a sampling of the kind of issues that arise via the focus of the various views. It was found that one's viewpoint of school-to-career programs and their importance may depend on what one's place is both geographically (urban vs. rural) and philosophically. The needs of the surrounding community and the reciprocity between the school system and the community often dictate the perspective that one will have regarding school-to-career programs. (ERIC).
