Abstract | Examines the processes and procedures used to develop two standards for continuing professional development (CPD) for teachers in Scotland: the Standard for Full Registration and the Standard for Chartered Teacher. Concludes that policy focus of CPD framework limits opportunity for members of education community to consider alternative conceptions of teaching and education.
