Abstract | Notes that the Internet allows students and teachers to participate in literacy events and access reading resources previously unavailable to them. Describes a study designed to explore literacy researchers' and innovative teachers' thinking about the benefits of Internet-based curricular activities and instructional practices used to enhance student literacy. Suggests that teachers need to have well-developed self-directed learning habits themselves in order to research, develop, and implement Internet-based curricular activities. (PM) |
