Abstract | Responses from 68 college distance education directors showed that 96% target nontraditional students; course delivery was predominantly asynchronous; and staffing and technical support were largely inadequate. Students preferred the convenience and flexibility of distance learning and desired more frequent and faster feedback. Faculty liked flexibility and desired more technical support.
