Abstract | Examined the hypothesis that adolescent girls attending single-sex schools would exhibit greater body dissatisfaction and disordered eating than their coeducational counterparts, reanalyzing data from relevant subscales of an eating disorder inventory (drive for thinness, bulimia, and body dissatisfaction) and a figure rating scale from an earlier study. Results supported the hypothesis. (Contains references.) (SM) |
