| Abstract | Investigated social and cultural aspects of adolescence among Asian girls in Britain, particularly experiences having relationships with boys and involvement in sexual activities. Interview data indicated that they conformed to different behavioral norms than their white peers and were influenced by culture, religion, family loyalties, and community expectations. Once removed from parental and community influences, social and sexual behaviors changed. (SM) |
