Abstract | Examines New Zealand research information on child-child learning and on the importance of adult-child interactions to enable children to formulate working theories and develop positive learning dispositions. Argues that future research needs to focus on children's learning and the teacher's pedagogical role. Suggests that a range of learning theories are needed, appropriate to specific contexts.
