Abstract | Gender stereotyping manifests itself in educational settings through perceptions of friendship and love relationships. This study examined how Valentine's Day is celebrated in 20 Canadian elementary classrooms and by 40 school children. Data revealed that children attempt to make sense of their own socialization as evidenced by the fact boys and girls preferred to receive gender-specific valentines. (LBT) |
