Abstract | Responses from 86% of 207 agriculture teacher educators revealed the majority to be white, male, tenured professors at land-grant institutions. Reasons for entering the profession were as follows: females--for personal and professional development; males--to share teaching interest and for external benefits; and minorities--to assume leadership and influence other minorities to enter the profession.
