Abstract | The changes brought on by a knowledge-based society necessitate increasing counselor understanding of occupational changes, helping noncollege-bound students make reasoned postsecondary education choices, and helping parents consider alternatives to four-year colleges. This means changes in the preparation and functioning of school counselors and has implications for counselor education programs. (JOW) |
