Abstract | Development of self-images of two preservice secondary teachers over a one-year training course are described to illustrate conflicts between image and learning to teach. Both ambiguity over image and a clear articulation of image can present difficulties to the beginning teacher. A reconceptualization of image as a form of argument is proposed. (Author/DB) |
