Abstract | A young adult novel about teenage homosexual love was burned in front of the Kansas City School District's office and was subsequently removed from school libraries in several districts. When the school board in Olathe, Kansas, refused to restore the book, several students filed suit. The school board's action was ruled unconstitutional and they were ordered to return the book to the shelves. (AEF) |
