Abstract | Telephone interviews with 57 2-year colleges and site visits to 2 community colleges found that innovative institutions assess a wide variety of outcomes, including some not usually associated with vocational-technical education. Internal and external groups shape outcomes assessment, and nontraditional methods such as portfolio assessment are beginning to be used. (SK) |
