Abstract | Gender differences in overall self-evaluation and in specific dimensions of self-concept were examined in 470 primarily white college and 501 high school students. The findings indicate that there are gender differences in overall self-evaluation that favor males and that there are differences in specific self-concept areas that are consistent with gender stereotypes.
