Abstract | Collected data from 277 college students to explore antecedents, concomitants, and consequences of problem-solving appraisal and depression. Found preliminary evidence that self-appraised ineffective problem-solving ability is antecedent that may play causal role in predicting future depressive symptoms and that problem-solving appraisal is concomitant of depressive symptoms. Depressive symptoms may cause temporary deficits in self-appraisal of problem-solving ability. (Author/NB) |
