Abstract | Used confirmatory factor analysis to validate academic self-concept scale comprising items from High School and Beyond data set. Conducted analysis of first-order correlated factor model, made adjustments based on analysis, cross-validated best first-order factors model on separate sample, and tested resulting model for invariance across gender and socioeconomic status.
