Abstract | A 29-year-old female considered to be severely to profoundly retarded was provided questions both independently of and in tandem with her facilitated communication assistant. It was concluded that the subject was not able to communicate using the facilitated communication techniques and that this failure could not be explained by lack of cooperation. (DB) |
