Abstract | Higher education institutions should diversify their curricula to include traditional academic/liberal arts curricula and vocational/technical education for a number of reasons: (1) it is consistent with their mission; (2) preparing students for work is a legitimate goal; and (3) it will build bridges rather than walls between the two traditions.
