Abstract | Describes characteristics of clients who drop out of counseling prematurely. Common qualities include interpersonal factors (i.e., sociopathic features, high need for approval) and intrapersonal factors (i.e., poor motivation). Describes counselor qualities which may contribute to early dropout and makes recommendations for counselors based on both client and counselor characteristics. (WAS) |
