Abstract | This article, the last in a series dealing with deficiencies in teacher education programs, analyzes methods and criteria used in program accreditation and requirements for certifying teachers. Inconsistencies and inadequacies are pointed out, and recommendations are made for upgrading accreditation and for basing certification on demonstrated professional ability. (PP) |
