Abstract | Highly efficient instructional techniques are required to teach prerequisite skills in cognitive, social, motor and language areas of performance while accommodating individual differences within group instructional situations. The direct instructional teaching model appears to be ideally suited to this task. Gives a brief summary and explanation of the direct instructional model, based on the DISTAR programs, which are aimed at teaching reading, language and arithmetic. (Author/RK) |
