Abstract | Argues that "the journey to work has a different meaning for women than for men. Unlike men, women's home-role requirements are important predictors of the length of their journey to work. Data from the National Longitudinal Survey of Work Experience of women aged 30 to 44 are examined. The main finding is that women with demanding home roles have shorter journeys to work."
