Abstract | In this article, we propose that using student-centred pedagogical approaches and engaging in the possibly controversial practice of educator self-disclosure may engender spaces in which educators, researchers and students can engage with the pressing question of sexual violence prevention together and, in particular, how can we keep each other safe? We present a case study that highlights the challenges faced as educators/researchers in creating a sexual education programme that used a co-intentional teaching style. We focus on the practice of educator self-disclosure and sharing personal experiences of sexual violence, to highlight the value and difficulty of a co-intentional pedagogical approach.
