Abstract | This article outlines the efforts toward racial equity undertaken at the system level in Basic Education for Adults (BEdA) programs in Washington state. These Title II Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs include both adult basic education and English language acquisition (ABE/ELA) students. The work focuses on the alignment of programs to a central vision and definition of leading with racial equity and provides details on how policies and programs align to that vision. Throughout the article, the authors approach the work with humility, knowing that there is much to learn and do to realize racial equity in adult and postsecondary education. (As Provided). |
