Abstract | This paper provides a broad overview of the development of the domain of 'psychology in language learning' (PLL). It discusses the linguistic dominance of the past, the growing influence of psychology in the present, and the challenges for the future. The author also proposes a research agenda aimed at making the process of L2 learning and teaching more principled and effective. (As Provided). |
